    • Special Award for an exceptional couple — Juniors: Invitation to perform at the International Ballet Gala Concert in Ljubljana, March 7, 2027, on the stage of the Gallus Hall of Cankarjev Dom. (May be awarded to one or more couples; decided by the artistic council of the Slovenian Ballet Artists Association.)

Jury Awards

In addition to the above, individual jury members will present awards. 

Special prize from Jury member, Mrs. Nina Polakova

Director of the Slovak National theatre Bratislava

Ms. Nina Poláková will offer the participant/participants of the competition – if at least 18 years old – the opportunity to join the Slovak National Theatre Ballet for approximately two weeks and participate in rehearsals and auditions for the upcoming season.

Special Prize from Jury member, Mr. Rainer Krenstetter

Mr. Rainer Krenstetter will offer the participants scholarships for Summer courses as for Competitions in Japan, Austria, Italy and Canada.

Important Notes on Prizes

        • All prizes are individual and indivisible.
        • The jury is not obliged to award the Grand Prix, any cash prizes, or any other awards.
        • In the event of a tie for the first three places, the jury decides placement based on artistic impression.
        • All prizes are paid in euros, subject to applicable Slovenian tax legislation.
        • Prizes are transferred to winners’ bank accounts after participation in the Gala Ballet Concert, by Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
        • Dancers who decline to participate in the Gala Ballet Concert forfeit all rights to cash prizes.

The 1st Portorož-Portorose International Ballet Competition accepts a maximum of 120 participants. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis — do not delay your application.
